Ladies and gents, its that time of year again! Time to make every inch of your home welcome Spring and all her glory with open arms!
Typically I could care less about Spring cleaning, but that "nesting" factor keeps coming into play for me!
This year, the hubs and I have started with the outside of our house. At first it was because we were going to sell, but now that we are staying a bit longer- it was more about making this house a home. We've been here for 5 years, but it always felt so temporary that we didn't take to love this house. We're changing that.
I know you've seen this old pic before, but literally the house has always looked liked this minus the random string of Christmas lights (what's up with that?) and the snow.
Very dull. Very uninviting.
Well, we changed that in a big way with very little moolah!
Here is what she looks like now! Of course the blue skies and sunshine really help, but the little things we did made a huge impact. Re-painted the door and shutters, added our flag, a few flowers (I still need to fill the larger flower bed), new light, new solar lights, and a little Uppercase Living! Oh yeah, and a new car! J/k although, the car does look better in the pic than our old one lol.
Here is a little closer view. I still need to re-paint that birdhouse and add more flowers!
I REALLY wish I could have painted the door a different color, but our HOA would have a huge cow. It's the one thing I absolutely hate about living in this neighborhood. We don't have ANY amenities, but we do have a small group of people going around telling us how our houses must look. And trust me, you don't wanna tick them off.
That's the somewhat finished front of our home. Once we get some more flowers, and our grass actually turned green-I'll be satisfied.
Now onto the back!
Do you have an HOA in your neighborhood? Do they have crazy rules you have to abide by?
