The cooking bug seems to be back full force, and it makes me extremely happy! I've been going through cookbooks and trying to be more inspired to try new recipes.
Here is one that I LOVE and my kids gobbled up really quick!
This little man was really happy to see mommy cooking this morning too! And yeah, he looks a hott mess every time he wakes up. Not sure where those socks end up though.
We start this recipe with very few ingredients:
1 loaf Angel Food cake (pre-made or homemade...just depends on how much time you have!)
1/4 cup almond milk (or any milk you choose. I used unsweetened vanilla)
2 tsp cinnamon
Dash of vanilla extract
**recipe is for 6 thin slices**
Whisk all ingredients together (except cake of course)
Dredge each slice in mixture and drop in pan with a little butter.
Cook until each side is golden brown.
Serve and stuff your mouth!
This "french toast" is incredibly moist and slightly sweet.
I cut it up for my babies at drizzled a little honey on top.
They DEVOURED it!
I topped mine with a little extra butter and maple syrup.
I devoured it too.
I was pleasantly surprised at how similar this was to typical french toast, but just a bit sweeter and a lot more moist that usual.
If you try this out-PLEASE let me know!!
