Chic Geek.

If you haven't guessed already- I love all things geeky and nerdy.

I realize day after day that those kids I used to think were weird in high school, i.e. the ones who would quote Lord of the Rings or roll play scenes from Star Wars-those were my chosen people. Those are really the cool kids...everyone just doesn't know it yet.

My current geek obsession (actually it's been going on for awhile now) is Doctor Who. I have no idea how I missed out on this show.

When we had cable (praise God for Netflix...I can still get my fix in), I would always see the commercial and thought it looked weird. One day while folding laundry I decided to see what it was all about. Five minutes into the show I was hooked. Once the show was over, I was still holding my first piece of clothing to fold.

Ever since-I consider myself a Whovian.

So, what's the point of this  post?

Well, I did want to get my true identity out there...but also show some really cool "geek items" I found on etsy!

Check em' out!

Hope you enjoyed this fun post. Wasn't planning on it, but the hubs and the kids went to the gym and I had two hours alone...

which I spent watching British TV on Netflix and writing this. :)

New Sponsors!!

I am super stoked to introduce you to a few of my wonderful sponsors!! I am beyond blessed to have met these ladies and not only do I think they are wonderful people, but their blogs really rock too!

Each day this week I will feature a new sponsor of mine. If you decide to sponsor Purple Kale, it's only $5 per month or $10 for three months. OR we can swap buttons! If you pick the paid sponsorship, then I will write up a full post about you and your blog and advertise that on facebook, twitter, Pinterest and numerous other blogs.

If you decide to swap buttons with me, then I will do a one paragraph write up about you and your blog within another post.

If you are interested in working together let me know! I am also interested in gathering up some ladies to guest post as well!

Now let's get to it-

First is off is Amy, from Not Your Average Baby Blog!

She's a extremely awesome girl from the north (won't hold that against her :) with an extraordinarily cute little boy named Carter. You seriously have to go and check out their family pictures taken for his 1st birthday! They will make your drool. They honestly look like the family that could be in the picture frames when you buy them!  Her nursery is absolutely adorable as well. Impeccable style!

If you are looking for an incredibly sweet but brutally honest mommy blog-she's your girl.
No sugar coating here!
She's a Jesus follower and cloth diaper lover (I am going to have her do a guest post about it!).
Her husband is a CPA and she works from home.

She doesn't litter her blog with just pictures of her little man (not that I would mind!), but she has great content as well. Lots of DIYs and all natural mommy stuff. When I have my next little bit, she'll be my go-to woman to introduce me to cloth diapering and baltic amber teething necklaces.

And oh yeah, I was even the one who got her hooked on the Hunger Games! I take serious pride in that, let me tell you!

You have got to go and check this chick out. I consider her a friend, and if you are mine-you'll go show her some love ;)

Today.

Let me start off by saying how much I am thankful for all of the WONDERFUL comments I received on my last post. You have no idea what that did to my heart and soul. I love you guys!

Also, I am EXTREMELY behind on my posts due to the fact that my children have been sick for almost two weeks! Cashe has finally gotten better (although now I think he's got a tooth coming in) but Melody still has a nasty cough. I haven't really been able to go anywhere and my poor little blog had to be put on the back burner.

So sorry, loves.

I swear I am getting better at this.

This week will consist of the multiple posts I have been promising you-

thrift store re-do, my new/old hair, and a sponsor post!

Please bear with me you all. These past three weeks have been brutal.

Thanks for stickin' around.

Kill the liar, kill the thief in me...

I know that I am tired of their cruelty. Breathe into my spirit, breath into my veins...until only love remains.

I know that if you follow me on Instagram or on Facebook, you are wondering why this isn't a post about some gorgeously awesome thrift store finds I spray painted...

Well, I just got out of the shower. As women, it seems that its in the shower that we straighten our thoughts out-and that's exactly what I did.

To be honest, I have been having a super crappy week. Not that anything is really going wrong-but I am having that "lonely" feeling again. Feeling extremely rejected and not sure I know why.

If you have been reading my blog for any length of time you know that I live in a small town where I feel like I don't fit in. I don't have anywhere or anyone to do play dates with, and I don't have that friend I can call on to pray when I feel like I am losing my mind. No girl's night out, and no one to watch my kids so I can have a date night with the hubs (or vice versa!) This has really been a struggle since I had my babies. Being in the house alone day in and day out can really putting a wrecking ball through the mind and heart.

I try to be content.
I try to love where I am.
I try to love that I get spend so much time with my husband and children.
I try to count my blessings daily.
I try not to be so darn blasted frustrated that my closest friend lives 2 hours away.

So why does it still bother me so?
Why does it bother me that we don't get asked out for dinner, or people don't accept our invitations to come over?
Why does it hurt that I don't get invited ANYWHERE with ANYONE except family?
Why do I feel so angry and God, because I feel like He's not listening to my prayers for a friend?

I honestly don't know the answer to any of this, but I think it goes back to this song (which I hope you have listened to by now). I need to learn how to love like Jesus. He is really pushing this topic on me lately.

If I can't love like Jesus, I can't represent Him-period.

Part of me feels like the Lord is putting a guard up around me  until I figure this concept out. Maybe I need to be closer to Him before I can get close to anyone else?

There is so much hurt and gunk going on in my head and heart...

Six years of loneliness sucks.

I am trying beyond myself to seek out what God wants me to learn here-but I keep getting pulled back into the issue of love

Everywhere I go I feel like I am challenged on how I love other people. I am learning more and more how shallow and selfish this world is becoming. Being a person who does for others gets you put on a pedestal in life because generosity is becoming extinct. Loving someone even though they have screwed up is unheard of. It's all about what we can get out of every relationship. We drop friendships and even marriages when they become too hard, too boring, too complicated or too painful.

"Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." 1 Corinthians 13:7

In my own heart, I tend to SHOW love to people when they accept me. When I feel like I am rejected by someone-I typically just move on.

What is Jesus acted the way that I do?

Where would 99.9%  of the world be?

Hmm...not sure where I was going with this post-but I do feel better.

****Tomorrow will have my thrifting post as well as my hair cut pic. Trying to figure out how to use my phone as my primary camera at the moment. The pics come out great on Facebook-crappy on here.
Any tips?

Nutty Rolls

Late last night, my little one REALLY wanted to bake cookies. I really didn't want to make a huge mess in kitchen-so I had to figure out something she could help with.

I remembered seeing something similar to this on Pinterest, so I figured it would be great to give it a try.

There's only three ingredients!! I am going to call them Nutty Rolls, since you can really use any kind of nut butter you want!

-Crescent Rolls
-Nut Butter of your choice
-Chocolate Chips (I used dark and semi-sweet)

Just spread on the nut butter, top with chips, roll and bake! (Sorry for the lousy pics-took from my phone. It  was 8pm btw.)

This is one of the butters I used. Amish Peanut Butter!!! It tastes like that old fashioned peanut butter candy. It's made with peanuts, honey and fluff!!

I also used Trader Joe's Sunflower Seed Butter! I LOVE this stuff!!!

They only take a few minutes in the oven. I had made 8 of them, there is only two left...my husband ate SIX last night! I wasn't too hungry so I didn't eat any. He absolutely loved them. Melody wasn't too thrilled. I think it's because they were messy to eat.

These were simple, easy and quick to make. Not healthy in the least bit, and I hate that I used canned rolls (got them super cheap with some coupons) but I was trying to figure out a way to use them up-this was perfect!!!

A true Jesus-kind of love

I seriously can't stop watching this couple. Their love for each other challenges me in every kind of way. The fact of the matter is-

I don't love my husband the way I should.

I nag at the dumbest stuff in the world and get angry at the smallest inconvenience.  Every since I watched this video-I have been aiming to love him more and more like Jesus. When I die, I want people to be able to say I loved like Jesus

Please watch this video. It's less than 10 mins.

Would love to know what you thought of it.

You'll just have to wait and see!!!

I NEED YOUR HELP!!!!

I will be chopping my hair off in the next week but I can't decide what to do with it!

I really don't want to cut my hair, but my hair is in a pretty bad spot at the moment. I have been trying for two years to grow my hair long-but it's lacking nutrients somehow and breaking off.

I talked to some people and got some vitamins to hopefully take care of this problem, but my hair is in such bad shape-I need to just start over.

I haven't had really short hair since I had my first baby!!!

My husband is actually pretty excited! He says he likes my hair both ways, but that when my hair is short-it looks a lot healthier.

Sooooo....here are some styles I picked out from Pinterest.

Now most look similar-but I really can't decide definitely which one I want!

That's where YOU come in! Come on, you know you want some control! I have numbered each picture-just leave a comment and let me know which one you think will look the best on me! Then next week-I'll blog with a current picture of which one I got!

So let me know-Which do you like the best???

1. Rachel McAdams wavy

2.Short wavy hair ((:

3.hair cut ideas cut

4.cute hair cut

5.the shorter side of medium hair

6.Thinking of cutting my hair like this

I have a dream...

That one day, Christians in American would stop worrying about the American Dream, and start worrying about the lives of others.

That Christians would stop worrying about the opinions of others, and focus on the commands of Jesus.

That Christians would truly love their neighbor-even when it may hurt and possibly be uncomfortable.

That Christians would get out of their heads that "love" is a feeling and that you are only motivated to act by that feeling-but to understand that it's a verb, and you love even when you don't want to.

That Christians would stop "interpreting" what Jesus meant in the Bible.

That Christians would stop living these lukewarm lives as if they won't have to face a consequence for it.

That Christians would stop labeling people "radical" or putting them on a pedestal when they tithe like their supposed to, lay hands on people for healing, or stand-up against gay marriage or abortion.

That Christians would stop thinking that though the world hated Jesus, that it won't hate you.

That Christians would stop feeling like they were sent to be served-but realized they are here to serve.

That Christians would realize that Christianity isn't a religion-it's a relationship with Jesus.

That Christians would understand that we are a body of Christ-there is supposed to be NO NEEDS in the church...why are people starving in some of the richest churches in American?

That Christians would realize that Christ didn't come to make us feel good about ourselves-He came to expose the sin in our lives and show us how to get rid of it. The Refiner's Fire is painful, but in the end-you come out like glistening gold.

That Christians would truly TRY to understand and fathom the amazingness of God Almighty. Stop trying to compare Him to creation...He is the Creator.

Sorry guys, it was one of those days that I needed to just get this out. Most of this is about myself.

April Favs

Just like the beauty gurus on YouTube do their end-of-the-month favorites vids, I have decided to start doing a post of all of my random favorite items from each month! So let's get started!

First on my list is the Revlon PhotoReady 3D Volume Mascara. I have never found a mascara I love more than this one! My lashes look so full and long, without ANY clumps! Plus it comes off pretty easy when I want it to.

I love love love Melissa and Doug toys for our kids! We find them a lot at place like TJ Maxx and Marshall's for a great price. We don't do many electronic toys at our house, so the wooden toy sets from M&D keep the babies busy for a really long time! Even the hubs and I play with their toys!

Chocolate Covered Katie!!! Her website is a God-send! She does healthy desserts that will blow your mind! Many are vegan, but you would never know!

Next is the Infusium 23 Color Defender conditioner. If you have been reading my blog, then you know I recently bleached my hair to dye it red for my Hunger Games party. Well, needless to say my hair was not happy. This stuff has brought my hair back to life. My hair feels better now than before I ever bleached my hair!

This wonderful stuff is the J.R. Watkins Window and Glass Cleaner. I LOVE making my own cleaner, but I haven't found a glass one that works well. I caved and purchased this because of the lack of harsh chemicals. Wow. It works 100x's better than Windex ever did! It smells really great too! I found this at Harris Teeter for around 3 bucks.

This is The Body Shop's Cheek and Lip stain. Wow. Wow. Wow. I have only had this a few days and I can't imagine it not being in my life. Yes, it's that serious. It leaves just a hint of color on my lips and I can still kiss the hubs with it on. It also can be used to put that hint of flush in your cheeks. It goes on so easy and stays on for a long time. This stuff doesn't dry out my lips at all!

These are my all-time favorite shoes. I wear them everywhere and with everything. Nothing else more to say. They. Are. Awesome.

This entire CD is on my workout playlist. If you love to listen to rap, I suggest you pick up this album. I got in on my phone for less than 10 bucks for 17 songs. This kid has talent. I've never been a fan of Christian rappers-they usually seem forced and cheesy. Not this guy. Check him out. Seriously.

There is seriously drool running out of my mouth as I type this. I just recently discovered Pinkberry's Salted Caramel frozen yogurt. OH-EM-GEE!!! Why hasn't anyone talked about this? I swear I am it's biggest fan. I could bathe in this stuff. I could eat it 24/7. *Sigh* Just sucks I have to drive over an hour to get it. But then again, that really could be a blessing in disguise.

The hubs and I have been going through all seven seasons on Netflix. What can I say, I love it.

Vaseline's Hand and Nail cream. Not greasy at all, and really helps the dry spot that crack and bleed around my fingers. Plus it survives being in my hot car all day.

Revlon's Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti is a PERFECT summertime lip color. Not too bright and not too orange. It's not a fussy color and doesn't take much to apply. There's also no clumping!

Larabar's Apple Pie bar. I don't care for these personally, but my kids gobble this up and I can feel good about giving them these. The ingredients are dates, almonds, unsweetened apples, walnuts, raisins and cinnamon.

Rimmel's Lasting Finish Pro nail polish in Steel Grey. This color is my go-to for every occasion. It looks SO GOOD on. I always end up turning to this when I actually do my nails.

EcoTools has the softest brushes at the best price. I have a ton of these and I haven't been disappointed yet. Alicia Silverstone is their spokesperson because of their cruelty-free bristles. Check them out at Walmart and national drugstore chains.

This is True Religion's perfume for women. A friend gave me this and it's become a staple for me. I can't really describe the scent, but it almost has a masculine scent to it-which I really love.

My Ninja! The blades on this this is ridiculously sharp! It's not a Vitamix by anymeans, but it get's the job done better than the Osterizer I used to have!

I have talked about this book a zillion times. Just go check it out.

Last but not least is La Croix sparkling water. I add a bit of cranberry juice and I have a perfect soda! This has helped so much with my Coke addiction. I keep my fridge stocked with this at all times!

What are some of your favorite things from April??

**BTW, I am selling sponsorship spots for $5 a month or $10 for two three (I previously had two...I'm an idiot) months!!! Do you sell Shakeology, Mary Kay, Avon or ThirtyOne? Have an etsy shop? Have a blog? Let me know! We can also do a swap if you would like!!!
