Grapefruit Cleaner

I read once that you could soak your orange peels in vinegar for a few days for a rocking all-purpose cleaner....so I did! Well, not ORANGE peels, but grapefruit and lemons. I didn't see why this wouldn't work as well.

So I got a large mason jar and filled it with plain ol' vinegar.

I shoved peels from lemons and grapefruits I was using up in about a 3 day period.

I don't have a mesh strainer, so my tea strainer had to work to separate the pulp from the liquid.

There you have it! It still has a smell of vinegar, but lots of yummy lemon and grapefruit scents as well.

This didn't cost me very much since I already had the spray bottle and the fruit. The fruit was getting used regardless and the vinegar was about 1.29 or so at Walmart-and I still have half a bottle. Pretty excited to try this out on everything!

  3. I love this idea. I use vinegar as a cleaner, but the lemons and grapefruit would definitely help make it smell much nicer.

    1. It does! PLUS, the citrus is a great de-greaser. You could also add lemon oil, which is what I have been doing recently!
