Can't believe I am doing this...

Here is a post about my weight. I am horrible about keep journals, so this will have to do. I wanted to keep a record of my progress-I also would like to help anyone that is dealing with the same mess I am.

As you have read in previous posts, I am seriously working on becoming healthy and getting down to a healthy weight. Unfortunately, I was overweight when I got pregnant with our first child and gained quite a bit of weight with her. Less than a year later, I found myself pregnant again. I only gained 10lbs, but that was on top of the weight gained with the first. I gained a total of 55 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!! UGGH! So that's what I have been dealing with. Here are my stats so far on this journey. (Please no harsh comments, this is already hard enough for me to do)


Highest weight: 235
BMI- 37.9

Current Weight: 211
BMI 34

Goal Weight: 150
BMI- 24.2

Pounds Lost- 24
Pounds to Go- 61


*Sigh* I am mortified at the numbers. It makes my stomach cringe. It was not supposed to get this bad. But in all honesty-I did it to myself. I was one that went to food for comfort, it's been hard breaking that trend.

I desire to be healthy-not skinny. I know if I strive for health, the weight will take care of itself. I will do a weigh-in every Thursday. If anyone wants to jump on board let me know! I will link your blog within mine!

  3. You are doing a good job! Several years ago my mother decided that she needed to lose weight. She was doing great but hit a plateau and seemed to be stuck. She almost gave up, thinking it was an impossible task. But after several months of staying at the same weight, she finally broke through. Just wanted to encourage you to hang in there, even if the numbers don't seem to be going down.

    What is important is that you realize that your body is a gift from the Lord and that you use it to honor Him.

    I think it's wonderful that you are using this blog as a sort of journal! I am sure your family will also appreciate your commitment and any new energy that comes your way with this new lifestyle. God bless!

  5. I SOOOO relate to you in the Weight Department! And Can I just say I am soooo encouraged and honestly impressed that you put you weight on your site for anyone to see! I would NEVER have the courage to do that,I can hardley stand to look at myself in the mirror, so KUDOS to you for Im sure going way out of your comfort zone and posting it! I have been in a Battle with weight since I had my first child as well. And also never lost the weight I gained with her before having my son. Sooooo here I sit 80lbs over weight and stuggling everyday to bring that number down. I have been somewhat successful these past couple of weeks in trying to eat more healthy(I also cut out all diet sodas) started to drink a lot more water and I also do ZUMBA 2-3 days out of the week. SO I have lost 3 lbs. these last couple of weeks but I am sooo scared to see if that number will start to creep back up :/ Have you heard of Zumba before? I absolutely LOVE it! Its SUPER fun, and I have noticed my butt has gotten more toned and my thighs are thinning out. It is also a GREAT STress reliever! Anyway I could probably go on and on about my battle with weight but just wanted to let you know you are NOT alone Im right there with you and I will be totally praying for you!

  6. Thank you so much Melissa! I appreciate the encouragement more than you realize. I hope that I too can encourage you to continue on in your weight loss! Sounds like you are doing a great job! I have tried Zumba before, but just couldn't stick with it. It's weird because I danced most of my life, but couldn't get on the ball with it-even though I thought it was tons of fun! I think I like running the best because it really is "me" time. It FORCES me to get up early, and I get to clear my head before my family gets up. I am not too great at it at the moment, but hopefully it will get easier! Thanks so much again for stopping by!
